Climate change and our commitment as agronomists.

Climate change is one of the issues that most affect the world and humanity today. On the one hand, I think it is related to cycles that the planet earth, but also, to the action of man. A very close and contemporary example is what is happening today in Petorca. An extreme drought was caused by the imminent rise in temperatures of the earth but mainly due to a conflict of interest between authorities and big businessmen, who for years dominated the area with large extensive crops of avocados, drying the river, almost dying groundwater, and leaving small producers in poverty. As with this case, there are many others in the world that go unnoticed until natural disasters happen. So, the human influence on climate change is evident through many activities such as mining, transportation, livestock, fishing, agriculture. That is why as agronomists we have to be very involved with the consequences that our activities can cause, it is important to use renewable energies, to respect the

Worthwhile efforts

This beautiful trip was in 2017 with my boyfriend, a long trip throught Chilean patagonia. There are many other nice photos of the trip but this is a special photo because represent our tiredness after the effort but at the same time represent our fullness and joy for being in the middle of that beautiful landscape. This is the top of the `Cerro Castillo´.  This trekking we did completely alone and without asking for advice, so we inadvertently used the longer way,  6 hours going up and 4 going down. But we had good weather and everything went well. The photo was taken by another person who was on top. After that, we went further south, we did many trekking and we saw beautiful landscapes, until we reached the lagoon and San rafael glacier. I hope to return very soon this year and be able to get further south, and someday I will definitely do it by bicycle, but I have to train for that.

Immigrants: No human being is illegal.

As much as there are imaginary borders, w e are all human beings that don’t choose where to be born, to think that we should have more privileges because we were born where there is more economic prosperity, is simply selfishness. The realities are very hard in some countries, where to bring bread to the table is a daily sacrifice. Everyone has the right to choose a better way, but that is also difficult, especially if you are poor and dark skin , Chile is an extremely racist country. Adding problems like trafficking of Haitian people (for cheap labor) . Who generate problems with immigration, are not immigrants, those are politicians or powerful people who want to take advantage. Politicians for not proposing effective migration controls (criminal background analysis), and for not decentralizing immigration, marginalize them in the poor neighborhoods where the problems are already many, instead of generating mobility programs to give them opportunities in regions where labor is sc

My favourite piece of technology

Hi mates, really, I dont like modern technology very much, I prefer vintage technology, because it was more durable, now almost everything is disposable (the system of programmed obsolescence) I'm addicted to the world of analogue sound technology and the art of collecting vinyl records and achieving the best possible sound. So, my favourite piece of technology is my Technics turntables and my 70's stereo (a gift of my grandfather). I use this Music equipment practically every day because I love music and when I need to relax. Also, I use my turntables in my Dj job almost every weekend, in pubs and parks. But when it comes to dialy life or university I use my cellphone a lot, because I have downloaded applications for everything, for public bus travel, transport, U-cursos, music, comunications, bank, etc. I think it's a good complement, but I don´t die if I stop to using for a couple of days, instead, what I can´t stop occupying are my turntables.
