Climate change and our commitment as agronomists.

Climate change is one of the issues that most affect the world and humanity today.
On the one hand, I think it is related to cycles that the planet earth, but also, to the action of man.
A very close and contemporary example is what is happening today in Petorca. An extreme drought was caused by the imminent rise in temperatures of the earth but mainly due to a conflict of interest between authorities and big businessmen, who for years dominated the area with large extensive crops of avocados, drying the river, almost dying groundwater, and leaving small producers in poverty.

As with this case, there are many others in the world that go unnoticed until natural disasters happen.

So, the human influence on climate change is evident through many activities such as mining, transportation, livestock, fishing, agriculture. That is why as agronomists we have to be very involved with the consequences that our activities can cause, it is important to use renewable energies, to respect the natural processes of the soil, of the water, and not to use products that contaminate.
